My polls and rankings are unique as I do not rank teams based solely on how they perform on
any given weekend but rather on where they will end up at the end of the year. This system is more accurate than the AP and Coaches poles, which typically have more movement during the season. If you win, I will not move you down. Winning is positive and should be rewarded unlike the AP. This strategy requires me to spend more time to wisely choose who should be at the top, but I think it is a good thing. If you beat an FCS team, I will not move you backwards for taking a week off. However, there is a good chance that I may not move you up in the poll. A team that played an FBS opponent will get a chance to move up quicker and be rewarded for their choice to play a team at their FBS level.

THE UNDEFEATED: WEEK FOUR PICKS

THE UNDEFEATED: WEEK FOUR PICKS
There are thirty-three undefeated teams in college football as we head into week four. Some of these are not surprising while others are downright shocking. Then there are the teams that are struggling with two losses on the new season. They were supposed to do well and now are eliminated from any playoff possibilities. What happened? Was it transfers, new play callers and schemes, or maybe it was the ability to pay players and jealousy that is causing friction within teams? Whatever the case, the first three weeks have been quite a ride. Week four will see the list of undefeated teams shrink.

Here are this week’s picks:
Maryland at Michigan
Undefeated Maryland at undefeated Michigan. Crabcakes and football will fall. Michigan for the win.

Clemson at Wake Forrest
Undefeated Clemson at undefeated Wake Forrest. If Clemson is the ACC leader, they should dispose of the Demon Deacons. Clemson for the win.

Dustin’s Pick: Clemson

TCU at SMU
Undefeated TCU at SMU. TCU took SMU’s head coach Sonny Dykes, wrote him a check and made the native Texan their head coach in late November of 2021. Since then he has been rebuilding the TCU program while SMU worked to find their new leader of their program. Now they meet this weekend. One would think there would be some animosity involved. TCU for the win.

Duke at Kansas
If you had said Kansas would be undefeated headed into week four, I would have said you are crazy. Yet here we are. Kansas for the win.

Florida at UTK
UTK is undefeated and hosting Gameday again. The last time they hosted the premier college football show was September 15, 2012. The No. 18 Gators met up with the No. 23 Volunteers in a night game on ESPN with UTK falling 37-20. Derek Dooly and his orange pants matched up with Will Muschamp. A decade later the coaches are gone and a lot of the success of both programs are in the past. Now they have an opportunity to write a new chapter in the rivalry. I’m nervous about this but UTK for the win.

Dustin’s Pick: Florida

Minnesota at Michigan State
Michigan State rebounds at home against the untested undefeated Gophers. Michigan State for the win.

Indiana at Cincinnati
Undefeated Indiana tries to keep their streak going but it ends at Nippert Stadium. Cincinnati for the win.

James Madison at App State
Undefeated FBS newcomer James Madison falls in Boone, NC. App State for the win.

Arkansas at Texas A&M
Something tells me that they might dial back the smack talk at Yell Practice Friday night in College Station. Naa… Texas A&M for the win.

Celebrity Guest Picker: Texas A&M
Charlie’s Pick: Texas A&M
Dustin’s Pick: Texas A&M

Southern Miss at Tulane
Separated by 114 miles, these two schools are rivals despite no longer being conference foes. Southern Miss is 1-2 this season while the Green Wave are undefeated and coming off their upset win at Kansas State. Tulane for the win.

Celebrity Guest Picker: Southern Miss
Charlie’s Pick: Southern Miss
Dustin’s Pick: Tulane

FCS: South Dakota State at Missouri State
No. 3 South Dakota State lost to Iowa in a close one. No. 6 Missouri State lost in a tight one at Arkansas last weekend. South Dakota State for the win.

Celebrity Guest Picker: Missouri State
Charlie’s Pick: South Dakota State
Dustin’s Pick: South Dakota State

DII: Concordia St Paul at Wayne State
Concordia St Paul hasn’t won yet this season. Wayne State is undefeated. The Bears have to make the long trip to the end of the earth that is cold and windy home of the Warriors. Wayne State for the win.

Celebrity Guest Picker: Wayne State
Charlie’s Pick: Wayne State
Dustin’s Pick: Wayne State

DIII: Carlton at Hamline
Carlton and Hamline are both undefeated. Hamline for the win.

Celebrity Guest Picker: Hamline

My polls and rankings are unique as I do not rank teams based solely on how they perform on any given weekend but rather on where they will end up at the end of the year.

UPSETS AND THE PICKS

September 16, 2022
UPSETS AND THE PICKS
Last week we witnessed nine upsets, and four teams fall to FCS teams. Louisville beat UCF. Marshall beat Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. App State did the same taking down Texas A&M. Washington State beat Wisconsin at Camp Randall. Air Force took out PAC12 member Colorado. Iowa State ended a six-year drought beating Iowa and reclaiming the Cy-Hawk trophy. Kansas beat a conference foe for the first time other than Texas (they don’t count) since October 26, 2019, by beating West Virginia. Utah was upset by Florida who then Florida was promptly upset by Kentucky last week. Georgia Southern beat Nebraska in Lincoln, NE.

This week’s picks will reflect last weekend’s kayos as we look to see what is next for those involved.

Here are this week’s picks:

South Carolina at Arkansas
The Hogs surprised me last weekend. Are they back? I’m not ready to say yes just yet. But I am willing to say they will be 2-0 after this weekend. Arkansas for the win.

UTK at Pitt
This should be one of the better games of the weekend both on the field and in the history books. Pitt for the win.

Celebrity Guest Picker: Pitt

Houston at Texas Tech
The line gives the Red Raiders the home three-point win. The Cougars can overcome that. Houston for the win.

Celebrity Guest Picker: Houston
Charlie’s Pick: Houston
Dustin’s Pick: Texas Tech

Iowa State at Iowa
I watched both teams play last weekend. Iowa State wasn’t perfect but was able to blow out FCS SEMO. Iowa never found the endzone and relied on two safeties to win 7-3. For all of Matt Campbell’s success at ISU, he has never claimed the Cy-Hawk Trophy. The alumni know this all too well and are hoping that this is the season they bring the trophy back to Ames. Iowa for the win.

My polls and rankings are unique as I do not rank teams based solely on how they perform on any given weekend but rather on where they will end up at the end of the year.
